Born in Gaya, Bihar, the younger of seven siblings, Dr. Shabistan Fatma Taiyabi is known for her leadership quality since her childhood. After completing her school education, she went to Patna for a Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery. She studied Unani medicine at India's oldest Government institution for Unani medical education the Government Tibbi College, Patna. At that time this institute was facing a lot of internal and external hindrances. That was the year 2002, a student movement was outset on the college campus. Initially, she tries for a solution by dialogue but the college administration denies that results in the phase-wise powerful student movement. This student movement is a milestone in not only in college history rather in the history of Unani medicine in Bihar. Various educational reform and the development of good infrastructure is an outcome of this movement, Dr. Fatma and her colleague are credited for that.

After completing her BUMS, she got married to Dr. Md. Khursid Alam in the year 2009. Dr. Fatma very smartly manages the many roles with love, compassion, and the medical profession.

In the year 2010, she got selected for the medical officer by the Government of Bihar. She joined Additional Primary Health Centre, Haujpura Haat, Vaishali. Within a very short period, she becomes a famous physician in Vaishali Block as well as neighbor blocks Patedhi Belsar and Lalganj. She also continues her private medical practice at Jarang Rampur, Patedhi Belsar. But unfortunately, on public demand she was transferred to Additional Primary Heath Centre, Bhagwanpur Ratti under Primary health center, Vaishali. This was far from her clinic, which lessen her private practice. One year later, she was again get deputed at Urban Primary Health Centre, Hathsarganj, Hajipur, Bihar. This was the newly established Hospital, she joined here as the first doctor of this hospital. She also delivered the responsibility of the hospital in charge of this hospital for years. In the year 2020, she decided on higher education hence she qualified with excellence in post graduate entrance examination and get admitted for M.D (Mahiyatul Amraz) in her native Unani medical education Government Tibbi College, Patna. This is the first batch of postgraduate education of Unani medicine in Bihar. she is one of the highly active people who are struggling to solve the issue of Unani medicine and the AYUSH related government. She is continuously working for the betterment of Unani medicine in the state of Bihar.
