Bukhari Advia (Gaseous / volatile drugs)

The drugs are used in vapor form naturally, they may be in any state (solid, liquid, or gas), but when used, changed their form and become in vapors or gaseous state.


1.      Bakhoor, Dhooni (Fumigation): These drugs are burnt or heated to form the smoke that is introduced to the desired part of the body. This is also called Tadkheen, or Tabkheer.


2.      Inkabab, Bhapara (Vapor bath): Some drugs are boiled and their vapors are applied to a particular body part or on the whole body. if only moist heat is required for treatment the simply water is boiled to get vapor.


3.      Shamoom (Olfactory vapor): When the drug smell is inhaled then its volatile constituents reach to respiratory passage during inspiration. These drugs are used in the treatment of disease of respiratory, cardiac, and nervous diseases.


4.      Lakhlakha (Inhalation): These are either liquid or solid drugs, which are kept in a wide mouth container or bottle to smell, its Fragrant/ smell inhaled through inspiration.
