Jangli tulsi (Scoparia dulcis)

 Jangli tulsi is a medicinal herb used in Unani medicine. Its botanical name is Scoparia dulcis, and belongs to plantain family. Its other common name is Ghora tulsi, ban dhanya, patal mishri, chini jhar, mitha jhar etc. it is found in Indian subcontinent and other tropical and subtropical region. It is about 12 – 18 inches in height.  Its leaf resembles the leaf of tulsi, 

Medicinal part: whole plant

Medicinal properties: diuretic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, hypoglycemic, anti-hypertensive.

Medicinal use: this is used in the treatment of kidney and urinary stones, diabetes, hypertension, piles, and appendicitis.

For the treatment of appendicitis, the paste of the leaf of jangli tulsi (5gm) with black piper (7 pieces) is applied on the abdomen at the site of pain. duration: only two times at 12 hours apart is advised.
